GSSE Assembly, Montenegro is ready!
The delegates of the Olympic Committees of the Small States of Europe met this morning in the historic center of San Marino, at the Palazzo Graziani for the GSSE Assembly. In a friendly and constructive climate, President of the National Olympic Committee of Montenegro Dusan Simonovic was nominated as President of the Assembly, thus endorsing the official candidacy of the “last country” for the Games 2019. Also announced, by the Montenegrin Organizing Committee, the program of the Games: traditional sports plus bowls. Dates: 27 May – 1 June 2019.
For 2021 Andorra confirmed its candidacy and announce the expansion of the program with the inclusion of Taekwondo, Karate, Cycling, Gymnastics and Basket 3 vs 3. Confirmed in the Assembly, as Secretary-General, Angelo Vicini (San Marino), Jean Pierre Shoebel remains Chairman of the Technical Commission, who joins Christian Forcellini (San Marino).
Mark Thiesen, in his capacity as member of the CoE, spoke of the support of Olympic Solidarity to the participating Committees. At the next COE Assembly in Zagreb, the members of the Small States will meet at an extraordinary assembly putting in the agenda the improvement of the rules of participation. |
