SAN MARINO CAPOFILA TRA I PICCOLI STATI D’EUROPA PER LA SALUTE
Dal 31 marzo al 2 aprile il Meeting di Alto Livello del’OMS
Si è svolta questa mattina la conferenza stampa di presentazione del 6° Meeting di alto livello dei Piccoli Paesi dell’Organizzazione Mondiale della Sanità sul tema dell’equità e dello sviluppo sostenibile in programma a San Marino dal 31 marzo al 2 aprile 2019.
Si tratta di un appuntamento in sintonia con gli obiettivi 2020 dell’OMS e l’agenda 2030 delle Nazioni Unite e vedrà a San Marino la presenza di ministri e delegati degli 11 Stati membri della Regione europea dell’OMS con popolazione inferiore ai due milioni di abitanti: Andorra, Cipro, Estonia, Islanda, Lettonia, Lussemburgo, Malta, Monaco, Montenegro, San Marino e Slovenia. Ad aprire i lavori del Meeting il 31 marzo, sarà Il dott. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, direttore generale dell’OMS
Il programma tecnico dell’incontro comprenderà l’impronta sociale ed economica dei sistemi sanitari; i risultati emergenti della “relazione sullo stato patrimoniale di salute” e la loro rilevanza per i piccoli paesi; le risorse umane che operano nell’ambito del sistema salute; la sostenibilità ambientale con particolare attenzione alla salute e all’equità urbana e i processi partecipativi e il coinvolgimento della società civile come realizzatore proattivo dell’Agenda 2030 per lo sviluppo sostenibile delle Nazioni Unite. Fulcro dell’incontro, l’equità come centro di tutte le politiche. L’equità infatti sarà il tema della dichiarazione del 2019 dei piccoli paesi e il focus delle principali iniziative dell’Ufficio Regionale per l’Europa dell’OMS nel 2019.
“È importante sottolineare – spiega il Segretario di Stato alla Sanità, Franco Santi – che questa iniziativa è nata nel 2013 proprio a San Marino e l’obiettivo comune è di proseguire con la piattaforma dei Piccoli Stati per una maggiore collaborazione in ambito sanitario. Tra le novità di quest’anno l’allargamento ad altri tre paesi e sessioni di lavoro aperte al pubblico”.
“Il tema centrale sono l’equità e lo sviluppo sostenibile – evidenzia il Direttore dell’Authority sanitaria, Gabriele Rinaldi – perché l’obiettivo è quello di non lasciare indietro nessuno, soprattutto in un ambito quale quello della salute”.
“San Marino – illustra il Direttore Generale dell’Istituto per la Sicurezza Sociale, Andrea Gualtieri – presenterà il proprio sistema che garantisce la copertura sanitaria universale, che per gli altri paesi rappresenta un modello a cui tendere e che dimostra come la strada giusta sia proprio quella di agire in rete, non solo con le realtà limitrofe, ma anche con gli altri Piccoli Paesi”.

SAN MARINO LEADER AMONG THE SMALL STATES OF EUROPE FOR HEALTH
From 31 March to 2 April, the WHO High Level Meeting
This morning a press conference was held to present the 6th High Level Meeting of the Small Countries of the World Health Organization on the theme of equity and sustainable development that takes place in San Marino from 31 March to 2 April 2019.
It is an appointment in line with the 2020 objectives of the WHO and the 2030 agenda of the United Nations. Ministers and delegates of the 11 member states of the WHO European Region with a population less than two million inhabitants: Andorra, Cyprus, Estonia, Iceland, Latvia, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Montenegro, San Marino and Slovenia will be present in San Marino. On March 31, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO Director-General will open the meeting.
The technical program of the meeting will include the social and economic footprint of health systems; the emerging results of the “health balance report” and their relevance for small countries; human resources operating within health system; environmental sustainability with particular attention to urban health and equity; participatory processes and involvement of civil society as a proactive implementer of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development of the United Nations.
Fulcrum of the meeting, equity as the centre of all policies. Fairness will in fact be the theme of the 2019 declaration of small countries and the focus of the main initiatives of the WHO Regional Office for Europe in 2019.
“It is important to underline – explains the Secretary of State for Health, Franco Santi – that this initiative was born in 2013 in San Marino and the common goal is to continue with the Small States platform for greater collaboration in the health sector. New developments this year include enlargement to three other countries and work sessions open to the public “.
The central theme is equity and sustainable development – underlines the Director of the Health Authority, Gabriele Rinaldi – because the goal is not to leave anyone behind, especially in an area such as health”.
“San Marino – Andrea Gualtieri, General Director of the Institute for Social Security, explains – will present its own system that provides universal health coverage, which for other countries, that of acting online, not only with neighbouring countries, but also with the other Small Countries “.
